Oceanic Dive Gear Reviews
Oceanic was founded in 1972 by avid scuba divers Mark Johnson and Susan Watts in San Diego, California. Frustrated by the lack of quality and innovative scuba gear on the market, Mark and Susan started Oceanic out of their garage with the goal of designing scuba equipment that was both high-performing and comfortable for divers.
The company’s first product was the Oceanic Jetstream regulator, which featured a revolutionary balanced diaphragm design that delivered smooth, easy breathing underwater. The regulator was a huge hit with divers and put Oceanic on the map. Throughout the 1970s and 80s, Oceanic continued to innovate and release products like their Biolite buoyancy compensator and the DataMax dive computer.
Today, Oceanic is one of the leading scuba gear manufacturers in the world. Their headquarters and main manufacturing facility are still located in San Diego. They offer a full range of scuba equipment including regulators, dive computers, BCDs, wetsuits, masks, fins, snorkels, and more.
Oceanic prides itself on cutting-edge technology and performance combined with excellent comfort and durability. Their products are trusted by recreational, technical, and commercial divers around the world. Oceanic is dedicated to sustaining the underwater environment and partners with conservation initiatives worldwide. After 50 years in business, Oceanic continues to push the boundaries of scuba technology while staying true to its roots as a company founded by passionate divers.
