Tusa Hyflex Switch Fin Review Video

The guys over at SimplyScuba.com did a great job of going over the key features of the Tusa Hyflex Switch fins. In the video, you can get a closer look at the fins and what makes them ideal for travel.

Tusa Hyflex Switch Review: Key Features

The Blade System

The Tusa Hyflex Switch Fins feature a PuRiMaX polyurethane blade system. In other words, the blades are made of a very durable material to ensure maximum longevity. At the same time, the blades are fairly flexible and have a high level of memory. This helps to provide you with awesome thrust and kicking power. This also helps to reduce fatigue as the fins provide a lot of thrust for you.

Channeling and Vortex

The blades feature channels to allow water to pass over them much more easily. These channels allow the fins to create a lot less drag, thus increasing your speed and minimizing the effort needed for forward motion. Also, the blades feature a special vortex generator which is meant to help increase your thrusting power and speed even more, while also reducing drag and fatigue.

Performance Foot Pocket

The Tusa Hyflex Switch Fins feature a multi-compound foot pocket which is specially designed to maximize power transfer from the foot pocket to the fins. In other words, this foot pocket helps make you even faster. Moreover, this is a comfortable foot pocket, which means that it is specially designed to keep you comfortable no matter how long you are in the water.

Universal Bungee Strap

The universal bungee strap is designed so that most people can fit into these fins. It allows for a secure and snug fit for most people. Also, the clip system is fairly easy to use and adjustable to fit the feet of most people out there.

Great for Traveling

The Tusa Hyflex Switch Fins have a fairly short blade and are quite lightweight making them great for traveling. However, one of the craziest features which makes them great for traveling is that you can separate the blade and foot pocket for compact storage.

Tusa Hyflex Switch Review: Our Rating

Design: 10

Overall, we really like the design of the Tusa Hyflex Switch Fins. They are durable, they look nice, and definitely work

Functionality: 9

These fins work really well for most types of kicks and in most water conditions. They reduce drag and fatigue while increasing thrust. The only downside is that the clip is hard to use at first.

Druability: 10

In terms of durability, we see nothing wrong with the Tusa Hyflex Switch Fins. They appear to be an extremely durable option.

Price:   8

If you are an avid scuba diver, they are worth the investment, but for occasional use they are a little pricey.

What We Like

One of the things that we like about the Tusa Hyflex Switch Fins is that they are very comfortable and fairly easy to put on. The comfortable foot pocket makes sure that these fins are comfy and the universal bungee strap makes sure they stay in place.

Also, the foot pocket helps to maximize power transfer, which combined with the vortex generator and flex channel blades, helps to increase thrust while minimizing fatigue.

They are lightweight and compact making them great for traveling.

What We Don’t Like

There are honestly not too many things that we did not like about the Tusa Hyflex Switch Fins. One of the only things, however, is the fact that they are a little large, so you do need to wear scuba boots with them, or just order a size smaller. The sizing chart is a little off.

Besides that, the bungee strap and the clip are a little hard to open the first couple of times but other than that, the Tusa Hyflex Switch Fins are great fins.

Who Should Buy These Fins?

These are some pretty expensive fins to go with, but not the most expensive out there. That being said, they are not meant for someone who wants to go scuba diving once or twice a year.

The Tusa Hyflex Switch Fins are high-quality fins that are designed for avid scuba divers. They are pretty easy to use, plus they work really well, so they can be used by anybody, but due to their fairly high price, they are best for people who are actually going to use them on a regular basis.
