Scubapro Seawing Nova Gorilla Fins Review Video

The Seawing Nova Gorilla Fins are truly a unique pair of fins.  In the video below, done by the guys over at Simplyscuba.com, you can see why.

Scubapro Seawing Nova Gorilla: Key Features and Benefits

Monprene Elastomer

One of the best features of the Scubapro Seawing Gorilla Fins is the fact that they are made out of Monprene Elastomer. This material is said to be virtually indestructible, plus it also has a special additive which works to increase the stiffness and feedback. In other words, these fins are extremely tough and durable, plus they provide you with a lot of propulsion power. The stiffness of these fins makes them great for many different kinds of kicks, for quick acceleration, and for superior handling too.

Bungee Heel Strap

It’s a good choice because this material is really flexible and stretchy, plus it is self-adjusting. This makes it easy to take the fins off and put them on, plus it ensures that they stay in place as needed. They hold onto your feet really well. When it comes to the bottom of the Scubapro Seawing Gorilla Fins, they feature a re-engineered footplate with grip pads on the bottom, which means that you will have some good traction on slippery surfaces.

G4 Articulated Joints

Another awesome feature that these things come with is the G4 articulated joint. In layman’s terms, the Scubapro Seawing Gorilla Fin’s blades can actually pivot in the water. They will bend and flex, but they won’t break. In other words, the articulated joints help to increase your thrust power by just that much more.

Wing Tips

The other feature that needs mentioning here is the addition of variable blade geometry wing tips. These wing tips are arced upwards slightly in order to help provide you with more power, thrust, and stability. They also help to ensure that the fins maintain a 45 degree angle whether you kick hard or not.

What We Like

There are quite a few things that we like about the Scubapro Seawing Gorilla Fins. First, the bungee foot straps are very comfortable, and they form to the back of the heel for a great fit.

Moreover, the bottoms of the heels have good traction, so we don’t slip and all on wet surfaces when walking with them. We also like how these fins are made with extremely durable materials. The manufacturer wasn’t kidding when they said that these fins are virtually indestructible. They are excellent for providing thrust with any kick type, plus they are easy to maneuver with.

What We Don’t Like

There isn’t much that we didn’t like about these fins. One small aspect is that the sizing chart is a little off, so they might come a little too big. Also, they are fairly expensive, which is an obvious drawback, but other than that, we really like the Scubapro Seawing Gorilla Fins.

How Should Buy These Scuba Fins?

If you are going scuba diving or snorkeling, this product is one that you want to keep in mind. If you need to be really versatile and agile in the water, these Scubapro Seawing Gorilla Fins would be ideal. They are tough, they are made for ease of use, speed, and lots of power.

With lots of directional control, stability, and quick acceleration, these fins make for some great scuba diving every time. They are a good option for most scuba diving expeditions, especially ones where you need to keep up with the fish. On a side note, the Scubapro Seawing Gorilla Fins are fairly pricey, but they work really well no doubt.
